Steven M. Segalas, is a 1995 graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, after having received his Bachelor's Degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Saint Peter's College, in Classical Languages and Literature. He served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Donald R. Reenstra, J.S.C., in the Family Part, in Passaic County from September 1995 through August 1996. He enjoys admission to the New Jersey and New York Bars, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States Tax Court. He joined the firm in February 1997, and was employed as an associate until he became Ms. Damiano’s partner in April 2003.
He has been a member of the Bergen County Bar Association, the Passaic County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association Municipal Court Committee, and he is responsible for a substantial portion of the complex trial preparation of this firm in addition to handling a regular caseload and clientele. He has served as a panel chair in the Passaic County Early Settlement Panel program for nearly the last ten years.
His experience in the practice of law is devoted almost exclusively to the areas of matrimonial practice and domestic relations both before trial courts and at the appellate level. Mr. Segalas has assisted the advancement of the rights of parents to relocate out of state with children, and has a published appellate case in this area of practice, as well as a number of other successful appeals. Although his practice is almost exclusively devoted to domestic relations law, Mr. Segalas handles areas of real estate practice as well as municipal court and other related matters.
